2010-2011 Lake Elmo Rotary Foundation Update

This year the majority of our members met the goal of "Every Rotarian, Every Year" (EREY).  Our club exceeded our Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus and Fast for Hope goals and, in fact, ranked in the top 5 Clubs in our District and #1 in our area in per capita contributions to the Foundation!

We have two Paul Harris Society members, that is, they contribute at least $1,000 to the Foundation each year.

We have one Paul Harris Benefactor, that is, contributing more than $10,000 to the Foundation in his Will to the Foundation.

We have nine Paul Harris Fellows:  John Deir, Bob Walz, Paul Erickson, Ray Marshall, John Schiltz, Greg Hall, Randy Carlson, Jim Gruver (former member) and Bob Ilstrup our newest member.

What that means to us as a Club?  We have accessed the Rotary Foundation for matching grants for the Lake Elmo Library Wireless project, the Teustepe Food Security project, the Carol Mathey's playground project and also the Guatemala literacy project to name a few.

Way to go Club!

The Rotary Foundation

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

Through more than US$95 million in Rotary Foundation grants each year, Rotary clubs support community projects at home and abroad. Known as the world's largest private provider of international education scholarships. The Rotary Foundation funds more than 1,000 students annually to study overseas and act as cultural ambassadors.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.

Every amount contributed to The Rotary Foundation is spent in support of humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs and their operations. Clubs and districts apply for and receive Foundation grants to carry out worthy projects worldwide.

Please join us and the tens of thousands of fellow Rotarians who have made their financial commitment in becoming a Paul Harris Fellow.  Follow this link and make your gift today.  Thank you.
